Great read, but how to you get to the front page with 3 votes?

  Pretty sure the ranking algorithm includes points / time. In my experience a story that gets 3+ votes in the first 60 minutes will appear on the front page with a short half life that extends as it gets more votes.

    Doesn't that penalise long articles (assuming people would vote after reading)?
