Go do a stint at Amazon and you will understand. Executive management is insane there. For instance, executives will just lie and say they are in charge of the X team where X is something popular and upcoming. There will be for instance, 3 teams each claiming to own a part of the business. Then you have middle managers lying to executives about what they have accomplished and will accomplish. Executives are clueless. At the low end you have teammates all who want to know what you are working on so they can go tell management they are working on it and you are just helping. If anyone finds out what you are working on you have literally 1 day to deliver the project before someone either takes credit for it or gets it shitcanned.
