So why not wait until a regulatory authority gets in touch raising concerns, and then delete? You don't want to hire a lawyer until absolutely necessary, but you're willing to delete everything way before absolutely necessary?

Simple: I like coding and solving problems, not learning legalese. My hobby projects were inconsequential. Nobody cares about them much, including myself. I prefer tinkering, not becoming better versed in legalese. It's rather fascinating to me how I keep being misunderstood. I guess I am not stating things as clearly as I imagine.
