Yes, that is sad, but very common, unfortunately. In the place I'm currently working at we have Windows behind Cisco VDI, we have to have Cntlm proxy running (all traffic goes through it). Last week I got an email from Security team because I installed Decentraleyes addon for Firefox. Apparently, it's not allowed and is a security breach.
