How about the EM drive?
- collias 9y agoAs far as I know, this is still under active investigation, at least by the Chinese space program. NASA (or some subsidiary) confirmed that they were testing it as recently as two years ago, but I can't find anything more recent than that.
- techdragon 9y agoIf I’m not mistaken it recently received further funds to continue the “slow and steady” research via one of the “crazy Idea” research funding pools.
- jvanderbot 9y agoTesting, sure. But flight testing is for [TRL](https://www.nasa.gov/directorates/heo/scan/engineering/technology/txt_accordion1.html https://www.nasa.gov/directorates/heo/scan/engineering/techn...) 6 or 7, after the tech is demonstrated, spec'd, built, and entering late stage R&D before being pitched for technology demonstration on real missions. EM drive is TRL 1 or 2.
