Is it legal to search a medical database to get details of people with a certain genetic disorder?

  "A medical database." What medical database? You mean, like a database of patient records compiled by a hospital? No, most countries have laws on how those medical records can and can't be used. A database of DNA of felons collected by police departments where the DNA is also tested for genetic conditions? Barring any specific laws preventing that specific scenario, I don't see why that would be illegal.
