We paid NZ$75. This was for the hospital car parking for 3 days to visit my wife while she recovered in maternity ward in a private room. Everything else was free, from the first scan, through to delivery, and the standard of care was good. Didn't need specialists, but if we did that would have been free too. We have private health insurance as well (NZ$300/month to cover the family), but in public health care is good enough, private is for when you want to get treated faster for less critical things.
