Wow, yeah, that tech scene sounds very similar to what is north of the Columbia River in the Portland area, basically HP (failing forward at an astounding pace) and a bunch of sketchy "tech" companies that aren't great places to work. Its livable, but not where I'd go out of my way to get a job at.
