So, after updating the bios to the one released Feb 2018 (1.15.3), I can reproduce this issue, but only about once every ten or so attempts. Hopefully I didn't just start a nightmare :)
BTW, if I had to guess, BIOS 1.8.3 sounds like it probably introduced the issue:
- Resolved internal keyboard double letters issue.
