With something like Hugo, you only need a single executable and all you have to do is decide on a theme, write Markdown files, and compile it on a shell/cmd/powershell with a command you can save in a text file for later reference. Imho if you are really wanting to write a blog and host it yourself, this should not be too hard to learn. Wordpress doesn't install itself automatically, either.
