- thatswrong0 9y agoYeah. Most scooters I see in SF are parked properly / out of the way. People do ride them on sidewalks, but again most people will slow down / walk them when things get too tight. When there are plenty of tent cities and bike chop shops sitting in the middle of sidewalks at the same time, it’s hard to take any complaint about scooters seriously.
- SheinhardtWigCo 9y agoMassively exaggerated. If you walk the streets of SF you’ll find yourself stepping over much worse than these scooters. This is about local politicians being desperate not to get Uber-ed again.
- dano 9y agoIn the San Diego beach and North Park areas Bird, Lime bike, Ofo introduced their on-demand transport almost simultaneously. It's been a bit of a shock to the system when walking and being passed by electric scooters. Then you find Bird, Lime, and Ofo's left around in the neighborhoods for days until they're picked up by sub-contractors for re-charging and re-positing. Perhaps we'll get used to it. For the moment, it's making things a bit messy around town. The police are cracking down on the boardwalk for Bird riders without helmets and I'd expect that to get worse as the tourist season heats up. I don't see these useful services going away.
