It doesn't sound like the ad blockers are fake, only that they exploit their users. Facebook does this too. It's an ad company masquerading as a social network /jokes. Remember when Grinder was giving its advertisers the user's HIV status? That was certainly very wrong, but it is any different from an ad blocker that tracks their users?
