Right, but putting a face to a blocker in a project is hard to remove mentally. In an ideal world, IT and Devs would be on the same page - after all who will be first contact when an end user encounters an issue? The separation of development and support makes sense from a budgeting point of view, but operationally should be intertwined (IMO).
