I do personally recommend uBlock origin as something non disrupting for your average user. Neat URL and Skip Redirect are also nice for skipping tracking redirect urls like out.reddit.com. Decentraleyes is also an interesting project that caches commonly used CDN resources locally. Finally, umatrix and no-script with scripts enabled is in my opinion a good compromise between little breakage while still leaving power users with a lot of control.
