I don't trust Facebook.
I am 'aware' of the importance of privacy.
I install 'Facebook Container' because I prefer to install an extension to keep Facebook kind of controlled than to delete my account.
It doesn't make sense to me. If you are so privacy concerned it seems to me that the step you should take is to delete your account but not to look for ways to avoid being tracked by the company you don't trust, although you use its services.
If this extension is not for Facebook users but for everyone, why don't implement it by default and for a lot of other websites?

A lot of people I know use Facebook because they have to. For instance, a friend of mine keeps track of job postings that are only posted in certain Facebook groups. I would modify the argument such that if you're so privacy concerned, don't put any personal information on Facebook, and limit what Facebook has access to (which is what the container extension is doing).
