It is increasingly crazy to me that we pour so much money into government and then expect nothing of them. Any solution to real problems we face (pollution, traffic, no parking) is expected to come from the private sector. We only expect Government to do the bare minimum and not implode. Government projects efficiently solving these problems would be the ultimate vertical integration, its maddening that so little value is provided to citizens. It feels like we are totally duped into paying more and more taxes while continually lowering our expectations, although I always feel this way during tax season :p.
