I have run into "Data Scientists" in the past that use exclusively Excel and maybe some outstandingly awful SQL.
- gaius 8y agoTo be fair, any job involving data gets title-inflated to data scientist these days. It may not be their fault!
- make3 8y agoI have too, and said "sorry" when they asked me how to deal with a 30k+ lines excel file, as my only answer to them was "learn to program", and that didn't feel like a very helpful thing to say (I still did say it, in the least condescending way I could manage)
