Upvote. Carr doesn't know what transactional memory is obviously. Most people don't know how to do a lot of things, but with Google they know how to figure it out in 2-3 minutes. I remember Sherlock Holmes in I think 'A Study in Scarlet' tells Watson he tries to forget information that he doesn't have a use for so it doesn't clutter up his mind. I think that's pretty much how most people are now, why bother memorizing something if they know how to figure it out when it is needed.
