- drb311 8y agoYes it originated hundreds of millions of years ago. And this new research indicates it was probably in China. (The land not the civilisation.)
- icegreentea2 8y agoNo, the research says that Saccharomyces cerevisiae probably emerged in China, not all yeast. I think the point is that the article hopelessly uses the term 'yeast'.
