- draw_down 8y agoUm, they intentionally “leak” to reporters sometimes when they want to set the record straight without going on the record. But that is always more about setting expectations rather than a “marketing ploy”. For example if a product will miss its ship date, or if inaccurate rumors are really swirling and refuse to die down. Other than that, there is no 12-dimensional chess inside job conspiracy stuff happening.
- Apocryphon 8y agoIt really seems like a company with the resources and obsessiveness of Apple would have counterintelligence teams to manipulate public perception with false leaks.
