About 5 years ago, my wife and I were in London on vacation. We'd just gotten to our hotel from the airport, the rain was really coming down, and we opted to stay in. We ordered pizza from...well, I don't remember where, but the quality of the product was certainly chain-like. And the price was several times what I would've paid at home, even for something of a better quality. I think expensive food was just one of the defining traits of London, though.
