This goes from bad to worse for Tesla. It's all related to the original PR statement, but I'm guessing that Tesla have made further actions to anger the NTSB.

I don't understand why the change. They've already co-operated with the NTSB in the first Autopilot death (back in 2016) [0] with a much simpler PR statement [1] that didn't upset the NTSB.

- Someone1234 9y agoTesla has made three statement about this accident: - Original: https://www.tesla.com/blog/what-we-know-about-last-weeks-accident https://www.tesla.com/blog/what-we-know-about-last-weeks-acc... - Update: https://www.tesla.com/blog/update-last-week%E2%80%99s-accident https://www.tesla.com/blog/update-last-week%E2%80%99s-accide... - Newest: http://abc7news.com/automotive/exclusive-tesla-issues-strongest-statement-yet-blaming-driver-for-deadly-crash/3325908/ http://abc7news.com/automotive/exclusive-tesla-issues-strong... None of which address the multiple videos of people reproducing the accident at the same and different locations, and none take any responsibility for this likely bug (lane centering in non-lanes) introduced in an over the air update. Even Reddit's Tesla Motors sub which used to be a 24/7 Tesla celebrating has been pretty negative about Tesla's handling of this incident, and I'm talking regular posters and verified Tesla owners.
