We do know this already. Our brain is not a pure blackbox.
It is also a counterargument for the paper itself: If you know so little about two different systems, than you can't take any tool from system 1 and use it on system 2 and expect any resemblence or transfer of results.
- foldr 9y agoWe don't know that there aren't parts of the brain that use a fetch decode execute loop. The paper points out that although the 6502 does in fact work that way, this is far from obvious when examining it at the transistor level.
- sigi45 9y agoNot knowing something doesn't mean we don't know anything. Yes we are not 100% sure that there is somewhere a fetch decode execute loop but right know with the knowledge we have, it is unrealistic.
- foldr 9y agoWhat makes it unrealistic?
- sigi45 9y agoBecause we do know how neural network works and our brain is a huge one. Why would you wan't something like this to be in our brains anyway? Its already a problem to have data an processing divided.
- foldr 9y agoWe don't know how the neural networks in our brains work at anything like the level of detail required to draw the conclusion you're suggesting. What I want is obviously irrelevant.
