His idea has to be good enough to risk a shit tone of money, live savings and the future/well being of his family. For a demo or something special enough, it wouldn't hurt him at all to invest 10-50k in assets but everything else would be down right crazy. I don't think it would make sense at all to hope for a second minecraft or whatever and risk a million bucks for it.
