I hear that but I don't believe it for a second. In fact I noticed something really interesting... Install Facebook and Instagram on iOS. Launch FB and note how long it takes to start, now launch Instagram and do the same. Instagram starts up nearly instantly. Now, force quit both apps and remove Facebook. Start Instagram and all of the sudden it takes much longer to start. I don't know why this is but it certainly shows a deep connection between the apps in a way that users are probably not expecting.
