The Framers of the US Constitution were rightly concerned about standing armies. Not that anyone cares about any of it at this point--we're all going to go through hell again, probably nuclear hell, then people will understand. Seriously, how much death and destruction does the US need to mete out on an annual basis, regardless of drones or what have you? All this tech has done is empower the worst, most brutal people.
