I understand this dentist wanted to protect his neighborhood in his mind, but it's really sad if he's not donating any money to actually help the homeless.
- lykr0n 8y agoI don't think $5k will do much in a state that spends far beyond that per person.
- chrischen 8y agoThe problem is nobody wants the homeless at their doorsteps, including this community. If you leave them in tents in some place, nothing will change. If you apply pressure to the problem then hopefully it will get solved.
- lightedman 8y agoYou're correct, and all those thousands of people in Irvine whom are demonstrating are wealthy enough that a meager donation from most of them could've settled the problem in its entirety by building a local shelter or two. Meanwhile, the people here who have no clue about the homeless problem being exacerbated by these same unthinking people just downvote you and demonstrate their own lack of critical thought.
