I had the same exact thing happen to me, 100% yes. I had a severance package, savings, and unemployment. So I went 5 months without a job and it was amazing. Never in my adult life have I had so much energy than during that time. That really got me into FI/RE (financial independence / early retirement) and I've seen been working towards early retirement since.
