"build in a weekend"
- dboreham 9y agoI'm working in my spare time on a series of articles about the curious psychology of the software development world. This one is near the top of my list!
- positivejam 9y agoGot an email signup for that?
- hyperdimension 9y ago+1 on the email sign up--I'm very interested. Or at least post it to HN?
- Sholmesy 9y agoAlso interested in newsletter/update.
- farnsworthy 9y agoI could write that series in a weekend.
- Silhouette 9y agoIf your needs are basic, why is that surprising? Anyone who uses multiple payment processing services, for example in different countries or to support different payment methods, is probably already doing their own thing at that level anyway. Big, complicated APIs and invoicing systems and so on are not your friend in that sort of environment.
- dzonga 9y agoYeah, i'm building | built an invoicing app, it's not too much work for the basics.
- brianwawok 9y agoHave you ever built a basic invoicing app? I have.
- s73v3r_ 9y agoDid that include accepting credit card payments?
- brianwawok 9y agoYes, you can accept CC payments in 15 minutes via Stripe, PayPal, or Braintree. (Which is kind of the full circle of this thread)
- RobertRoberts 9y agoI just rebuilt about 60% of our invoicing system this past week. So yes, depending on your needs, it can be done.
- andkon 9y agoSo... 2.5 weekends, and you're only 60% done.
- harigov 9y agoAnd as they say, you get 90% of the work done in 90% of the time and the remaining 10% in 90% of the time.
- RobertRoberts 9y agoIt was already done, we just reworked a large portion of it. Done with that already, 3 days of work.
