They absolutely are responsible. Imagine if Uber started randomly denying drivers payment, taking away their source of income for arbitrary reasons with no chance of appeal. It would only be a matter of time before someone showed up at their door with a gun. Only the shooter is guilty of the crime. But YouTube is responsible. And the courts will agree when the victims sue.
