I think this is a really salient point. For those of us still doing Cut and Paste, a tablet isn't going to cut it (pun intentional).

- goerz 9y agoThe upcoming version of Blink has some pretty awesome keyboard-based selection/copy/paste: you still tap and hold for the initial selection, but then that selection can be expanded with keyboard shortcuts

- pjmlp 9y agoAndroid and W10 tablets support mices. They even show a little cursor when one is plugged.
- disordinary 9y agoEven the Blackberry Playbook supported a mouse, really surprising that iOS doesn't.
- ahartmetz 9y agoBlackberry's BB10 had the only good selection mechanism on a touchscreen I've ever seen, and I think it's patented.
- dharma1 9y agoSailfish OS also has really good touch selection, where it zooms in. Much better than Android or iOS
- cm2187 9y agoApple would go a long way toward solving this problem just by adding a right and left arrow key to the virtual keyboard.
- ianai 9y agoEh the actual selection process is a nightmare. I don’t understand how poorly they released it.
