- Johnny555 9y agoDoes it matter? Do cars act differently depending on which state they are in? Seems like a similar situation to the crash in California.
- rocky1138 9y agoIt does matter when the article title claims that it's a reproduction of the accident. If it's not the same location, it's not really a reproduction, even if the cause/effect is the same.
- kemiller 9y agoI read it in the same sense as reproduce a bug.
- evfanknitram 9y agoI don't think the word reproduction is always used as strictly as your definition. In computer software/hardware the word is used even if the geographical location and hardware is different. I don't see using it to reproduce car issues would be any different.
- Johnny555 9y agoIf anything it's more damning since this repro shows that the behavior is not just some quirk related to the road surface or line painting at the original location. But I still think it's fair to call it a reproduction since he showed that the car did try to steer him into the barrier. Which is a problem that the owner who died in the crash had reported to Tesla.
- ImaCake 9y agoThe parent post doesn't ask that. It just states a fact. A useful one at that!
- manicdee 9y agoIt is an irrelevant fact. Not useful at all, other than to asnwer the question that was not asked: “how common is this poor maintenance on US roads?”
- nafizh 9y agoEven better for the validity of the reproduction of the bug.
- debt 9y agoEspecially if it’s happening in multiple geos.
