Even relatively inexpensive lenses will resolve a hell of a lot of detail at f/8.
I do agree that it's an enthusiast thing, and will remain so for a long time, but it's not that hard to utilize that resolution.
- vardump 9y agoI think most lenses, cheap or not, already lose resolution at f/8 due to diffraction. Most of my lenses have resolving peaks somewhere between f/4 and f/5.6.
