Show HN: Apply to Date – Create a page where people can apply to date you

• Jarred 9y ago
Hi HN! We shipped this product a little over a month ago, and so far over 2,000 people have created their own pages and we've helped hundreds of people find dates. Yesterday, we shipped a new version of the app that lets you create an event and people can apply to the event. Here's an example: https://applytodate.com/lucy/formal-on-friday-1eia https://applytodate.com/lucy/formal-on-friday-1eia On the technical side, the website is written in Next.js and the iOS app is built using React Native (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/apply-to-date/id1357419725?mt=8&ref=producthunt https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/apply-to-date/id1357419725?m...)

Congrats, nice concept & I love the UI & the concept. Looks unique. Feedback: On the apply page [0], the page field has https://applytodate.com/ https://applytodate.com/ cut off & it looks weird. I know you have optimised it for mobile but on Desktop it can be wide & on Mobile you can reduce the font-size. Its real nice to see something unique in Dating world. Congrats you're onto something here. [0]: https://applytodate.com/lucy/formal-on-friday-1eia/apply https://applytodate.com/lucy/formal-on-friday-1eia/apply

This great, I like the design. Removes clutter that most dating sites are filled with. I would highly recommend implementing phone number verition on signup. I know its its hassle on the sign up flow but for a dating site the worst thing is for it to be covered with "hot single in your area" profiles.

Great idea. Nice spin on this scene and gets away from the swipe left/right culture to something more interesting.
