Ugh, what a dirty power source for a shiny ray gun! I hope diesel will be phased out soon.
- bhhaskin 9y agoIt's not going away anytime soon. Especially since jet fuel is pretty much just another form of diesel.
- truculation 9y agoSigh. I want every large marine vessel to have one of these installed: https://www.lockheedmartin.com/us/products/compact-fusion.html https://www.lockheedmartin.com/us/products/compact-fusion.ht... Well, OK, not precisely one of these because it doesn't work yet. But something similar.
- bhhaskin 9y agoIt would be fantastic if we had a reliable viable way to convert large marine vessels to clean electric, but there also a ton of other applications for diesel such as portable generators, stoves, lamps, heaters that would be hard press to switch to electric.
