It seems this type of racism and bigotry is quite fashionable in the media, because it has the veneer of beneficence, when in reality it is patronizing. Moreover it appears that many who espouse this viewpoint are also the loudest critics of racism. It reminds me of how sometimes the biggest homophobe is actually a closet homosexual.
