Sure, and now Backpage is being prosecuted under current law, which is how the justice system should work. Do we really need another law to tighten the stranglehold on the entire internet, when current laws were apparently already enough to prosecute Backpage?

I totally agree; I don't understand why they've had so much trouble applying existing law to this problem that we need new ones now.

  Because governments will always do whatever they can to expand their powers at the expense of the citizens they are supposed to serve.
