Is it technically possible to add an image/link like "Find us on Twitter" without embedding anything that ultimately requests a Twitter-hosted asset?

- Sir_Cmpwn 9y agoYes, you can. But if your message is that social media networks are "privacy villians" then you shouldn't have a Twitter or a link to it in the first place.
- confounded 9y agoGood point, but for people that will have a link anyway, it at least makes service-use consensual.
- rhizome 9y agoThat's nice of you to set standards for everybody, but it's still possible to exercise identity separation. FB doesn't know what my Twitter account is any more than HN does.
- thwarted 9y agoHuh? Find us on twitter And host twitter-dot-png yourself. (edited to remove autolinking)
- kakarot 9y agoIt is exceedingly rare in practice.
