I don't actually think the data sharing piece is the most important concern highlighted in recent days. To me, it's Facebook's pernicious effect on those who become addicted to the service and can't stop generating and consuming mindless status updates and photos all day. The introvert in me wants to say that's a good outcome in that Facebook serves as a honeypot for certain types of personalities which I tend not to like very much. But speaking more broadly, it makes me worry for society.
