Since the article is behind a paywall, I can't see his actual justification for this, other then "I hope so", but on the face of things, I don't think so. Crypto currencies are too much of a threat to the established interests, and if you think that particular cabal of sharks is just going to let this happen, you are wrong. They have the power, and will quietly fight this tooth+nail.
