Only thing I fear from Chinese authoritarian AI surveillance system is that it turns out to be successful and efficient. If it can control people efficiently but has less negative externalizes than traditional authoritarianism, it will eventually spread outside China. Resilient, stable and productive authoritarian system would turn the tables between liberal democracies and the rest of the world. It would be a pivotal moment in human history.
