Doesn't Geany use Scintilla? Support for scintilla exists out there and in fact I just found this PR which seems to have gotten stuck: https://github.com/geany/geany/pull/193 https://github.com/geany/geany/pull/193 You can probably get syntax highlighting by copying the required file in the right place.
