The DEA regularly takes everything from the people it targets, and throws them in a cell. When those people get out, they get to look forward to struggling to find any kind of work for the rest of their lives. The people perpetuating this idiotic "war on drugs" very much deserve to be unemployed. In many ways, feeling bad for them would be like feeling bad for an unemployed slave trader. They make their living by actively imprisoning and permanently damaging other human beings.
