I played poker a lot for a couple years and would routinely drop 'quarters' (25 bucks) to runners on busy nights to skip the line. Considering my hourly rate was just under $100/hour saving an hour+ wait on a Friday night was a bargain. note: Most casinos you would be tipping the 'floor' not the runners, but in this particular one the chip runners were doing the seating.
