I find it amazing that people even notice. I don’t have an ad blocker on all my browsers, and except for YouTube and interstitial ads that Chrome will soon block, most ads are simply not registered by my brain.
- zxcb1 9y agoAre you sure? Everyone says that they are “immune” to advertising (or propaganda), and yet here we are where the collective result shows that it works, surprisingly well too. Another theory could be that people just get the causal order wrong: ad display => subconscious influence, nudge => eventual product purchase, mention etc => recognized ad => spooky feeling
- jackjeff 9y agoYes. I know it works. Why would these companies spend so much money if it was not. And in addition they have good metrics to know which campaigns work. But this flies in the face of my personal experience... Aside from YouTube, I can’t remember when was the last time I saw and ad and what it was. Must have been weeks ago.
