I took off a week at the end of the year and didn't go anywhere. I stayed home, went sledding with the kids, worked on some projects around the house, hiked around nearby. I've never been more relaxed at the end of a week. There are vacations to go see things and vacations to relax. For me, they aren't the same. I can see how for others going somewhere would be just as relaxing, but I'm quite happy to avoid crowds and popular places.
