I don't have a Twitter account but occasionally arrive on that site through a link. I concur with the author that retweets are lazy noise. And quite often they reveal aspects of a person's character that I'd rather not know. Maybe Twitter would be better if it had a technical means of enforcing only original thought. Perhaps some day in the AI future...
