Privateer was my personal favorite because of the exploration / trading / upgrade system. There are similar experiences today, but most of them fail to replicate what was special about this game (maybe I am just wearing nostalgia goggles though)
- SliderUp 9y agoNo, nothing has managed the same combination of exploration, trading, ship building, and combat skill, plus an over arching slow burn story. So good. I loved WC 1-4 (hated Prophecy), but Privateer was the best. I will not speak of Privateer 2.
