I think you're being a bit cavalier about an issue that has massive philosophical and moral implications.
Maybe we can build a site like that, but you've ignored the question of whether we should build it.
- matte_black 9y agoIt’s no more controversial than Tinder. I’m not going to lose sleep over debating whether I should or shouldn’t build it: I’ve made up my mind, I will build it if the necessary services all exist and no one has done it well yet. When you’re trying to change the world there is always going to be resistance from people who want to preserve the status quo. In this case, you are that resistance.
- soVeryTired 9y agoWell it's nice to know you've thought it through.

- JumpCrisscross 9y ago> Maybe we can build a site like that, but you've ignored the question of whether we should build it This train of thought never terminates. People say this and then someone does the thing and then people keep saying it because it sounds good.
- soVeryTired 9y agoSo we shouldn't ask the question?
- JumpCrisscross 9y ago> So we shouldn't ask the question? The problem with this Jurassic Park question [1] is it says nothing. If you think we shouldn’t, say so and give your reasons. If you think we should, but with limits, suggest those limits. If there is a group whose needs are not being thought of, state that and proffer a solution. - soVeryTired 9y agoI don't know the answer. But I think it's fair for me to point out that the GP hasn't thought it through either.
- matte_black 9y agoI have, I’ve thought long about the marvelous future that could result. We can ask whether or not we should have built it only in retrospect.
