What he’s really arguing for is a new medium, like SMS that works on more than just cellphones, not faster email. As anyone could tell you, push email is far too disruptive. Qmail (quick mail, if you allow me to co-opt the term) would be text-only and as "push" as possible. It would be Bad Manners to qmail someone something that is not as urgent as an SMS, something better sent by email.
